Wunderkammer

Wunderkammer have absolutely nothing to do with gardens, or horticulture but are something that are worthing exploring.  They have been reintroduced to our modern psyche by Taschens publication of Albertus Seba’s Cabinet of Curiosities.  These collections are such a wonderful and important recognition of natures beauty and the influence it can have on us.  Collections range from the simply interesting to the outright bizarre.  Here are a few pictures that illustrate the concept.  I encourage you all to take the time to look at the natural world around you.  Turn off your phone and step away from your computer, look at all the beauty that we are surrounded by that man’s hand has not manipulated.  Can you find inspiration and passion for the natural world.  I suggest you do; it will enrich your life.  For me it has created a lifetime passion in which I can always study and learn more.  Besides, for me it gives me one more thing to collect!41CKEZECKXL._SS400_

  1. I would love to have a room filled with these cabinets and all their curosities.
I actually just bought that book (wow it is heavy) and look forward to many hours with it.
